{May 06, 2010}   Five Signs that a Player Is Tilting

Anytime you see a poker online player lose his cool, you should start seeing dollar signs. After a particularly bad beat (or what a player thinks is a bad beat), some players will have a tendency to throw their chips around, trying to win back their losses with mediocre hands. A tilting player at your table is a great opportunity to boost your chip stack, so keep an eye out for poker online players who look like they’re tilting. Here are a few clues that may tip you off.

Muttering under his breath-when you see a player muttering under his breath after a bad beat, it’s often because he’s incredulous at having been beaten.

Berating the dealer or another player-besides being bad etiquette, berating others at the table is a pretty sure sign that a poker online player has lost his cool.

Giving lessons to a player who just beat him-when you see a player giving advice to an opponent who just beat him, it’s plain that he feels wrongly beaten.

Shakes his head in disbelief-when a player is in disbelief at his lousy luck, he’s probably ready to make some bad decisions to change it.

Saying that he’s “due”-players that say they are due for a good hand are generally frustrated with how their game’s going, and they’re probably on tilt.
