When ever you are traveling in a bus, taxi or your own personal vehicle have you ever wondered how much your car contributes to the pollution in the atmosphere? Cars over the past years have contributed largely to air pollution and a significant depletion in the ozone layer. Cars emit CFC’s which react to the ozone layer causing depletion to the surface. Solar powered cars have resolved this problem as they do not emit any pollutants into the air. These cars have made a magnificent break through in the scientific bid to reduce pollution of the atmosphere.
Although great research is being made in this mode of vehicle these efforts are not being taken seriously by the world’s largest manufacturers. This is mostly due to the fact that solar powered car engines are not all that strong compared to diesel and petrol engines. The speeds of these cars have been of great concern as they are very slow reaching speeds of as low 60km/hr. These cars are now being used mostly in developing countries as they are easy to maintain and do not use expensive fuel. Basically a great research is still being undertaken so that it makes a suitable substitute to the cars which rely on combustion.
